Hollywood, Florida has long been a favorite destination for retirees and snowbirds. Now that Time’s Money Magazine has named it one of the best places to retire in the Southeastern United States, its distinction as a great place to live is now official.

In the 1920s Joseph Young, envisioned a sunshine filled paradise along the coast just north of Miami.  He called his vision Hollywood. Unfortunately while Young laid plans for his beachfront nirvana, natural disaster and the Great Depression thwarted his dream. Young died in 1934, but his vision of a dream city along the shores north of Miami became a reality in the years that followed his death. Today Hollywood is beautiful, vibrant, beachfront city with a character distinctly its own.
